It appears the Argentine will not be out of action for long as an MRI scan on his knee shows no ligament tears. The New York Times contributing writer Ben Rothenberg posted an update on Del-Potro’s status on his official twitter page.
MRI of del Potro’s knee showed a mild sprain, his ligaments and meniscus not affected. He will start training next week for hardcourts. #atp

Juan Martin del Potro suffered a dramatic knee injury early on in his quarter final match-up with David Ferrer but would quickly overcome the injury and defeat the Spaniard in straight sets. He would go on to lose an epic 5-set semi-final against Novak Djokovic, which was arguably the match of the tournament.
